Call for Volunteers—Why not join us?
MIRO’s restoration work in East Harbour Regional Park and the urban and foreshore areas of Eastbourne is dependent on volunteers. It has been estimated that currently volunteer hours are equivalent to seven full time workers all year round. A huge effort—and one that needs to be maintained.
MIRO volunteers come from a wide area—the Hutt Valley, Wainuiomata, Petone, Lower Hutt, Eastbourne and Wellington.
MIRO is always on the lookout for new recruits. This is your Park and local area to be enjoyed. If you are interested in helping with trapping, we organise introductory walks (typically four to five times per year) when we have sufficient numbers of volunteers interested. Please email info@miro.org.nz to register your interest.
Alternatively, if you can lend a hand by assisting with monitoring work, growing trees at the MIRO nursery, or if you have other skills to offer to support MIRO, please email info@miro.org.nz.
