Residential Traplines

Under the ERAT project predator trapping is carried out across Eastbourne and the Bays – from Point Howard all the way to Burdan’s Gate, including the foreshore. The residential area is divided into 11 zones, each with a volunteer area leader who supports the local residents in their trapping efforts. Trapping on the foreshore is important for protecting dotterels, little (blue) penguins and other ground nesting birds, and skinks and geckos.
